CATHEDRAL CITY REAL ESTATE

Cathedral City, also referred to as Cat City, has a population of about 51,000 residents. Located conveniently between the cities of Palm Springs and Rancho Mirage, the city has grown significantly over the past tree decades. The city’s name derives from “Cathedral Canyon” because of its rock formations reminiscent of a cathedral.

In 2005, its downtown revitalization program was completed with the completion of the Ultra Max Movie Theatre complex and City Hall. The city continues to look for ways to provide additional services to its residents and recently unveiled a new plan for its Civic Center area.

Cathedral City is home to many fine resorts, restaurants, shopping venues and family centered recreational facilities, including the Big League Dream Sports Park, a softball complex made up of four exceptionally maintained softball fields. Ten community parks lie within Cathedral City’s boundaries, all with Wi-Fi access for residents. Even here in this desert city, ice skaters and hockey players enjoy the Desert Ice Castle facility.

Many visitors and residents are drawn to Cathedral City for its climate, desert landscape and family-oriented atmosphere. It’s also a place where both small and businesses, including its mega automobile dealerships located in the auto mall area of the city. Strategically located on both sides of Highway 10, Cathedral City is ranked as one of the top three cities in the Coachella Valley for retail and total taxable sales.
